Cedarville University Dining Hall Renovation and Modern Campus Foodservice Upgrade

Johnson-Lancaster & Associates helped support the transformation of Cedarville University’s Commons dining hall, a large-scale campus dining renovation designed to modernize the student experience and improve foodservice operations across the university’s primary dining facility. The $7.5 million renovation introduced updated commercial kitchen infrastructure, expanded serving concepts, improved dining flow, and new exhibition-style culinary stations that reflect the evolving demands of higher education foodservice design.

Working alongside Nvironment and Pioneer College Caterers, Johnson-Lancaster contributed to the foodservice equipment package supporting both front- and back-of-house operations. The renovated facility now features advanced production equipment, upgraded warewashing systems, modern serving platforms, and high-volume cooking capabilities designed to support more than 4,000 daily transactions.

The project also introduced student-focused dining concepts including self-cook stations, allergen-aware platforms, exhibition pizza production, grab-and-go services, and late-night dining options, all within a fully reimagined campus dining environment.
